UPDATE – Due to the ongoing situation, all activity in Ukraine and Russia has been halted.
Our Renewables Project Manager, James Curley, recently provided the Marine Warranty Survey for a consignment of 79 metre blades on behalf of Vestas Wind.
We have been representing Vestas in Turkey for the last 6 years. Our remit includes attending throughout the loading and lashing of the V162 blades which were stowed 5 high, the highest stow of blades out of Izmir, Turkey to date. A great job done and it looks pretty impressive too with blades arriving safely at destination.
In other renewable news, we have renewed our relationship with Vestas and Nordex in South Africa for upcoming wind projects so look forward to being busy there for the next couple of years.
Despite the challenges faced by the attending surveyors, we have successfully completed all current projects in Ukraine, with the last of our UK surveyors departing to return home on Sunday. The vessels are still arriving into Ukraine and we have continued to provide seamless surveyor cover by utilising our experienced Van Ameyde Krogius partners in Kiev.
We have also won the 2022 contract with Vestas for overseeing the delivery by ocean going vessels into Russia and also the transport within Russia of components by barge and road. For this project we will be working closely with our colleagues at Van Ameyde Krogius based in Moscow.
