Day One
0900 pick up at hotel. Visit to P & O Ferries Terminal, Hull. Tour of terminal, sighting passenger and cargo receiving areas. Sighting typical Ro-Ro cargo and cargo handling equipment. Tour of vessel, the largest of its kind in the world, to include visit to bridge and demonstration of trailer securing systems. Lunch
1400 Tour of one of the UK's largest grain exporting facilities. Delegates will witness the receiving, sampling, analysing, storing and ultimate loading of bulk grain. Remainder of afternoon spent in Hull sighting tugs and other vessels, bulk and general cargoes being worked.
Day Two
0900 pick up at hotel. Visit to Immingham Bulk Terminal, sighting loading and discharging systems. If available delegates will have the opportunity of looking around a Capesize bulk carrier including a visit to the engine room. The vastnes of these ships has to been seen to be appreciated. Lunch
1400 Visit to vessels in Immingham Docks. This may include a visit to the Immingham Oil Terminal (security permitting), sighting loading and discharging systems and including a tour of an oil tanker and explanation of its layout.
Day Three
0900 Check out and pick up at hotel. Tour of private wharfs to sight problems associated with small vessels berthing in tidal waters. Sighting other types of coastal vessels, fish docks and barges. Lunch Course
