McAusland Turner Claims Management is pleased to announce a new dedicated in-house facility serving insurers of small craft, jetties and marina installations. The service will undertake casualty surveys and investigation of liabilities arising from small craft incidents with a wide national reach operating out of our Hull, Newcastle, Felixstowe, Bristol and Scottish offices.

Head Surveyor Bill Mawhinney, has over thirty years’ experience of investigating and surveying small craft on behalf of insurers throughout the UK and overseas.

Our Felixstowe offering includes father and son team, Ian and Mike Anderson. Ian a former Chief Engineer, gained wide experience of smaller vessels working with the RNLI managing the technical operations of 42 lifeboat stations, while Mike regularly acts as a marine warranty surveyor for specialist yacht loading operation.

Adam Lewis is based in Newcastle and was previously a surveyor with the MCA. Adam is MCA approved for wooden craft and is a qualified Chief and Mechanical Engineer.

Ian Dunkley is based in Gravesend, he was the technical manager for the Clipper ship “Cutty Sark,” and oversaw the renovation of the masts and rigging. Ian also has a diploma in Marine Surveying, specialising in small commercial craft.

Support for criminal investigations is provided by Fionn MacDonald, of our Bristol office. Fionn is a former Detective Inspector with a wide range of experience in fraud investigations, he is also a small craft surveyor and is especially skilled in investigative strategy, specialising in suspect and witness interviewing.
